“Pastor Pray For Me!”

“Pastor pray for me” is a request commonly made of congregants, whether in small or large churches. The role of the Pastor is to pray for, care for, and look after the sheep…but who prays for and looks after the shepherd?

Most often, pastors are conducting multiple services on Sundays, doing mid-week Bible Studies, pastoral counseling, community activism, outreach, meeting with members, taking care of church business, etc., while still trying to maintain their own households. BUT, what is left for him or herself? What is left for the household?

Parishioners, when do we start praying for our pastors? When do we start lifting them up? When do we start giving them an encouraging word? When was the last time you told your Pastor you loved him or her? Let’s pray for our Pastors continually, let’s pour into them, and let’s show them love. Stop putting your trust in man, put your trust in God and pray for yourself. Take the messages you’ve heard and put them into action in your lives.

Mental health issues are real, even for pastors and spiritual leaders. So let’s be aware, let’s pray for ourselves and let’s pray for our pastors.

With Love,

Veleka B and Mia Nicole
