Agree with God

We must learn to agree with God and to continuously practice agreement. Often times, when God reveals to us who we are in Him in ANY capacity, we know what He has said regarding us beyond the shadow of a doubt, we accept it privately, we’re clear about the self-identity that He has revealed, but we have the hardest time speaking it and agreeing with it publicly through our confession. We tend to hide it, downplay it, suppress it, or we sheepishly smile and shy away from it in public, when others recognize it and call it for what it is. Acknowledging His revelation makes it very uncomfortable for us. This should not be! Whatever God says about us, reveals to us, and confirms to us about us, whenever and wherever, our response or reply should always be, “Yes and Amen!” publicly, every single time.

As Apostle Paul encouraged the Messianic Community in Corinth with these words – about the assurance of his assignment to plan a visit with them, “As surely as God is trustworthy, we don’t say “Yes” when we mean “No.” For the Son of God, the Messiah Yeshua, who was proclaimed among you through us – that is, through me and Sila and Timothy – was not a yes-and-no man; on the contrary, with him, it is always “Yes!” For however many promises God has made, they all find their “Yes” in connection with him; that is why it is through him that we say the “Amen” when we give glory to God. Moreover, it is God who sets both us and you in firm union with the Messiah; he has anointed us, put his seal on us, and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee for the future” (2 Cor 1:18-21, CJB)…we to are to follow his example. Paul and Messiah Yeshua simply agreed with God, in all things – inclusive of acknowledging who they were, the revelation of their assignment, and what they were called to do.

Do not feel unworthy, stop feeling unfit for the Master’s use, stop fearing your inability to do what God has called you to do, and most of all stop fearing people and their opinions. People’s opinions, nor their approval matters. If God said it, so it is. In Jeremiah 1, God reveals to Jeremiah himself, who he is – a prophet. The revelation nor the designation of the prophet came from a priest, spiritual leader, or any man. God himself appointed Jeremiah and identified him – told him who he was. “Here is the word of Adonai that came to me: “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I separated you for myself. I have appointed you to be a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:4-5, CJB) At that point, all Jeremiah had to do was agree with God, but he didn’t. “I said, Oh, Adonai Elohim, I don’t even know how to speak! I’m just a child!”(Jeremiah 1:6, CJB) God immediately corrected Jeremiah: “But Adonai said to me, “Don’t say, ‘I’m just a child,’ For you will go to whomever I send you, and you will speak whatever I order you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you says Adonai, to rescue you. Then Adonai put out his hand and touched my mouth. Today I have placed you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and to tear down, to destroy and to demolish, to build and to plant.” (Jeremiah 1:9-10, CJB) God just wanted agreement from Jeremiah. He had already done the work – before Jeremiah was born. But, in order for the manifestation to come about, God wanted/needed agreement.

You are exactly who God says that you are. Once He reveals who you are to you, once He identifies you for His use, that’s who you are. Own it and walk in it, publicly…Before He formed you in your mother’s womb, He knew you and separated you for Himself; He has anointed you, put his seal on you, and given you His Spirit in your heart as a guarantee; He has placed you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and to tear down, to destroy and to demolish, to build and to plant. Brothers and Sisters in Messiah Yeshua, agree with God. Amen!
