Melvin Crispell III Debuts “God Is” Single & Video

Acclaimed recording artist Melvin Crispell, III, who has received nominations for GRAMMY, Dove, and Stellar Awards, has unveiled his most recent music video and single, “God Is.” This follows the release of his first single and music video, “Alright,” featured on his forthcoming album, No Failure. The album is now available for pre-order, and those who opt for digital pre-save/pre-add will instantly receive the first two singles, “Alright” and “God Is.”

Melvin Crispell, III, well-known for his captivating live performances, gained a significant following after winning Season 9 of BET’s “Sunday Best.” In “God Is,” he delivers another enthralling performance, expressing his unwavering faith and devotion. The song conveys that God is the source of joy and strength and remains by our side through life’s challenges and hardships.

 

“God Is,” a gospel classic penned initially by Robert Fryson and recorded by James Cleveland, has been reimagined by Melvin Crispell, III in a triumphant, country-infused rendition. The song’s live performance is featured in the music video for his upcoming album, No Failure, set to release on June 16th. This will be Melvin’s sophomore album, recorded live at Springcreek Church in Garland, Texas, and his debut as an executive producer.

Melvin’s journey began with his victory in Season 9 of “Sunday Best,” after which he released his 2020 debut album, I’ve Got a Testimony. His GRAMMY and Dove-nominated #1 hit single, “Wonderful Is Your Name,” written by his late father Melvin Crispell Jr., was recently honored with the BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Music Award as one of the most-performed songs over the past year on radio and digital streaming services.
