This week, Nashville, a city known for its rich musical heritage, embarked on a historic journey as the Gospel Music Association initiated the construction of the highly anticipated Christian & Gospel Music Museum at The Dove Center. Nestled at 400 Commerce Street in the bustling heart of downtown Nashville, this new cultural facility is poised to unite music enthusiasts from all corners of the globe.
Governor Bill Lee and Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell were among the distinguished guests at the ceremony. They offered their endorsements and celebrated this significant addition to Nashville’s cultural landscape. Their presence underscored the widespread community and political support for the project.
The event was further elevated by performances by some of the most celebrated voices in Christian and Gospel music. Michael W. Smith, a Dove and GRAMMY Award-winning artist, and Jekalyn Carr, a Dove Award-winning artist, provided the soundtrack for the groundbreaking ceremony, filling the air with uplifting music that resonated with the audience’s spirit.

Slated to open in Fall 2025, the Christian & Gospel Music Museum will celebrate the genre’s rich history and current stars and look forward to the future leaders of this vibrant musical tradition. With an 11,000-square-foot space just steps away from the historic Ryman Auditorium, the museum is perfectly positioned to draw visitors from around the globe.
