After over two decades in the entertainment industry, few artists command the respect and admiration that Grammy Award-Winning Platinum Recording Artist Tamela Mann does. Known for her powerful voice and deeply moving performances, Tamela is once again ready to capture the hearts of her fans with her latest studio project, Live Breathe Fight, slated for release on Friday, August 16. This album promises to be one of her most compelling and personal works to date.
The debut single from the album, “Working for Me,” began its takeover of gospel radio on Monday, June 24. This personal anthem, now streaming on all platforms and with a lyric video available on MannTV, is the first of ten tracks from the forthcoming release under Tillymann Music.
“‘Working for Me’ is a song that celebrates God’s sovereignty,” Tamela shared. “Even though life is hard sometimes, we still have to trust and believe that God is working things out for our good. Like the scripture says, things will work out for those who are called according to his purpose.”
Live Breathe Fight promises an upbeat and deeply inspirational tracklist. It features songs penned by Tamela herself, along with Phillip Bryant and Jevon Hill. The album is produced by Tamela, Hill and her husband, David Mann, ensuring a rich and authentic sound that fans have come to love.
“I am talking about things in my personal life on this album,” Tamela revealed about the intimate nature of the collection. “I started saying no. I’m not going to do things that I used to do, so that caused a ruckus in my life.”
One standout track, “Power,” speaks to Tamela’s newfound freedom and empowerment. “It talks about the power of JESUS and how He can strengthen us through every situation that we’re dealing with,” she explained. Another touching song, “The Altar,” invites listeners to take their burdens to God. “You don’t have to carry the weight; take it to the altar and leave it there,” said Tamela, highlighting the therapeutic nature of her songwriting process.
Tamela’s involvement in this album goes beyond just performing; she has taken a much more significant role in its creation. “I want the Lord to be proud of the work I’m doing and the ways I’m using the gift that He’s given me. That’s my goal, and it can’t change because that’s what I’m supposed to be doing. I’m a child of the King and I want to make Him proud,” she said.
