At the star-studded 54th Annual GMA Dove Awards held in Nashville, Tennessee, Brandon Lake emerged as the night’s big winner, securing four prestigious awards, including Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year – Artist. The event, which showcased a diverse array of musical performances spanning genres like Gospel, Latin, Worship, Pop, and Hip Hop, aired exclusively on TBN and The TBN App, simulcast on SiriusXM The Message.
“Goodness Of God,” penned by talented songwriters Ben Fielding, Ed Cash, Jason Ingram, Jenn Johnson, and Brian Johnson, was rightfully awarded Song of the Year. Tasha Cobbs Leonard was recognized with two awards, including Gospel Worship Album of the Year and Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year.
New Artist of the Year title was bestowed upon Katy Nicole, while Jesus Revolution was celebrated as the Feature Film of the Year. The evening was marked by electrifying collaborations, including a memorable performance by Gospel Hall of Fame members Take 6 and Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. The event also paid homage to the impact of hip hop over the decades, featuring dynamic performances by Hulvey, Social Club Misfits, and GRITS, with TobyMac revisiting the iconic 2002 hit “Ooh Aah (My Life Be Like).”
Host Tauren Wells inspired the audience with an impromptu sermon, addressing the conflict in Israel and emphasizing unity through faith. Dr. Bobby Jones, a trailblazer in the Gospel music industry since 1976, was honored with the prestigious Jackie Patillo Leadership Award for his invaluable contributions.
